Sintra - Portugal
Welcome to Quinta do Rio Touro
"Here.. Where the lands ends and the sea begins ..." Luís de Camões
Family house located in the Valley of the Touro River, in Azóia, a small village located 1 km from Cabo da Roca, halfway between Cascais (12 km) and the historic center of Sintra, a UNESCO World Heritage Site (15 km), and 35 km from Lisbon.
It is an ideal location to relax and rest in an environment that enjoys a special microclimate. In addition, it offers the possibility to discover the monuments and landscapes of the region, with large beaches of fine sand or small coves, where you can enjoy the sun and water, or go hiking on the many roads of the mountains or play golf.
The owner, Ana Reino along with her husband, José Luis del Moral decided to relaunch the business that her parents had run a few years ago.
The Quinta has been recovered from some ruins through a careful reconstruction undertaken 30 years ago with traditional materials, eighteenth-century tiles and old wood from an old family home in Lisbon.
With traditional architecture, the house offers a decoration of that same style but with modern touches. Separated from the owner's quarters, you will find three guest bedrooms. In the common areas, there is a dining room with a brick ceiling and a large living room with fireplace that gives direct access to a terrace, as well as the pool and garden, chaired by tropical trees, including several palm trees.
It is included in the price of the room and is served from 09:00 to 11:00 in the dining room of the house, or in the patio if weather permits.
It is a buffet breakfast that includes: natural fruit juice, fresh fruits from the garden or bought in local markets, fresh bread and croissants, homemade jams, cereals, cheese platter, cold meats, pastries from the region, eggs to taste, yogurts, coffees and teas.
With an area of 3,000 m2, it has several areas to relax and walk. It has several types of plants, flowers, shrubs and native and tropical trees: hydrangeas, hibiscus, bougainvillea, strelitzia, roses, coves, jasmine, agapanthus, magnolias, orange, lemon, plum, fig, pear, apple and banana trees, among others, give color and fill the garden with different aromas.
